Is Boogspace free?
Yes. The Secret Santa Generator and all core features are completely free to use.
Do participants need an account?
No. For a quick draw using the Secret Santa Generator, no one needs an account — just enter names and emails and everyone gets an email. Accounts are only required for persistent groups and wish lists.
How does the Secret Santa draw work?
We use a randomized shuffle with a derangement algorithm to ensure no one is assigned themselves. If you set exclusions, those constraints are honored during the shuffle. Each participant receives a private email with only their own pick.
Can I re-run the draw if someone drops out?
Yes — just run a new draw with the updated participant list. Previous draws are saved for your records.
What if someone doesn't receive their email?
Ask them to check spam. If the email truly wasn't delivered, contact us and we can resend it manually.
Are wish lists visible to everyone in the group?
Wish lists are visible to all members of a group. This lets you see what people want without revealing who is buying for whom.
How do I join a group?
From your dashboard, click the join button and enter the group name and password (if it has one) that the group admin shared with you.
Can I use Boogspace for non-Secret-Santa exchanges?
Absolutely. Many people use it for birthday exchanges, white elephant parties, or any gift event where you need to assign givers to recipients.
Is my data safe?
We store passwords using bcrypt hashing and never share your email address with third parties. Email is used only to send Secret Santa picks and account-related notifications.
